Bio:
Larry has been an active participant on the WIA board for twenty plus years. During his tenure he has served on the personnel committee and a term as the board’s Vice Chairman. Larry became aware of the program’s amazing vocational training and job placement opportunities during his tenure as the coordinator for a nine county ‘Secondary Work Experience Program’ (a secondary educational curriculum focused on the transition from school to work activities for students with vocational disabilities). Later, as a State of Illinois Vocational Rehabilitation counselor, he continued his volunteerism to the LWIB. He has represented the LWIB from both the public and private sectors. Larry is active in his community, currently serving as second vice chairman of the executive committee for the Southeastern Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission. Larry and his wife, Sandra, are life long residents of Hardin County. Both are retired educators who operate Patio Deck Washers. Their children, Braci and Bric, are young professionals working in Hardin and Saline counties. Larry believes that individuals have a responsibility to be aware of the career opportunities available and an obligation to disseminate that information to the youth and displaced workers in the communities.
